The pieces in this collection are named after different flowers in Kurdish. I was named after a dry pomegranate-seeming flower that in Kurdish we call, Guleer’s. They grow in the mountains of Kurdistan and are coated in a sticky flammable film. My mom would string Guleer’s together and light them on fire during Newroz celebrations at my grandfather's gûnd, Tehlavê. I hope these pieces blossom you into a fresh season of life.
